A unique state of the art log cabin situated on its own lake two miles off of Highway 88, just south of Kirkwood Ski Resort, is aptly named "The Hide Out". This hand crafted two story log lodge style home is 5000 sq ft. It has five master bedrooms.The master bedroom suite is 1000 sq ft and has a soaking tub that is a replica from Nevada's infamous Mustang Ranch. The other bathrooms are decorated with a mix of old and new classic style sinks, toilets, and cast iron claw foot tubs. The formal kitchen has a large pantry and a center island for prep and cooking with easy access to the spacious dining room.There are also two living rooms (one up, one down) with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding granite. The main living room has a floor to ceiling granite stone fire place. The kitchen, dining room, and all five bedrooms have a gas lopi stove. There are five outdoor covered decks. This property's playful character is embodied in spots such as the front deck, which facilitates quick dips by extending out over the lake, and also a natural granite, 30-person hot tub. Adjacent to the main lodge is the saloon. This free standing 2400 sq ft western style structure with its swinging doors is right out of an old movie set. Its exterior lights were fashioned from old railroad lanterns. The ceiling is reproduction punch tin, and the floors are distressed pine. The saloon's bar features spittoons, and the kitchen even comes equipped with cast iron skillets. Upstairs is a modern day guest or care-takers living quarters.
